SUNDAY DECEMBER 7 2008 - Melbourne, Australia
Race favourite ADF-Red-5 has taken line honours in the MDR '2008 Formula Nippon Enduro' around the Albert Park circuit today, after starting from sixth grid position.

After a minor lose during his qualifying hotlap he surrendered any hope of a front row grid position and was forced to fight his way back through the field, in the 30 lap event. Front row positions instead went to pole sitter ADF-Monjen and Quasi, who admitted afterward "It was a sloppy lap, and I got a little drifty through several turns, but was lucky enough to put it on the front row."

However, his first rolling start took Quasi by surprise, and as the pace car left the track and the "GO,GO,GO" order came from his spotter he was swamped at the line by ADF-Monjen and a flying OzAgro. At turn one the excitement level exploded with those two frontrunners tangling, and heading off-track and into the kitty litter, whilst Quasi ran wide, allowing the entire field to stream through.

AUS-Butakup was shocked to find himself in second place, behind ADF-Medic, but held it together to remain in a strong position for several laps, with the original three frontrunners, and ADF-Red-5 bearing down on him. Quasi had been pressuring when on lap 2 he was rear ended by OzAgro, losing a rear wing and forcing an unscheduled pitstop, marking the start of a damage marred race.

Things heated up considerably when the pacesetters ADF-Monjen, ADF-Medic, and ADF-Red-5 gobbled up AUS-Butakup and set the scene for a tremendous battle up front, with ADF-2ZZGE battling with AUS-Butakup for minor placings.

Although in the middle stages of the event it looked like a three way battle ADF-Red-5 showed why he was the race favourite by not only dominating the second half of the 30 lapper, but putting almost a complete lap on eventual second place getter ADF-Monjen, and third place getter ADF-Medic.

OzAgro and ADF-2ZZGE both eventually succumbed to accident damage, whilst Quasi, during a very strong fight back through the field was disqualified for allegedly ignoring a blue flag, handing the fourth place finish to a persistent AUS-Butakup.
