Mad Dog Racing's Maxcat continued his push up the Nascar series ladder tonight, in the Aussie Web Radio Dodge.

Post race the normally hard to find MDR racer had this to say:

"In practice tyres started popping after 14 laps. This taught us that the race would be a strategy of looking after your tyres, and preventing a pit stop would be more important than going fast.

Around lap 20 some of the front runners popped tyres - they didnt learn from the practice, others ran out of fuel. I cruised along passing the stationary vehicles to secure 3rd - my first podium.

In race two, an 85 lapper with yellows the strategy came into effect again. I wanted to pit every 28 laps, to make it home on 3 stops, as drivers ran low on fuel some pitted under green, going a lap down. As I slowed for my pit, I spun causing a yellow, so those that had not stopped, did so under yellow flags. Some drivers cursing they stopped under green.

On the restart all but 2 of the field got a stop go penalty, I dont know why. This penalty put us all down a lap. We went to the end of the race under green. Drivers stopping as they ran low on fuel. I made it home in 6th. I got 5th for the night, and moved up to 8th overall for the season so far."
